Tallboy Presents: Jodie Baehre at Lord Hobos

Fort Point artist, Jodie Baehre is showing her latest urban landscapes at Lord Hobos Bar in Cambridge. The work will be on view until April 1. 2011, courtesy of Lord Hobos and artist promoter TallBoy. Stop by, enjoy some grub and grab a pint.

About the Artist: Jodie Baehre grew up in Buffalo, NY and now lives and works in Fort Point Boston with her Husband, Paul and dog, Allston. Jodie's paintings stem from her graphic background in Industrial Design and Printmaking. Her work is inspired by photographs she takes around the Boston and New York metro areas. The photos are often a glimpse at billboards, old signage, buildings and unique angles of the city. She then works in acrylic to interpret her own twist. Her favorite artist is Jill Magid because of her highly conceptual ideas and work

Jodie also is the Co-Founder of an artist organization called Glovebox that supports local artists through exhibitions and events in which artist(s) are teamed up with organizations or businesses to exhibit work. Gloevbox's latest endeavor can be seen at Fort Point's own Twelve Chairs on A street. The show is called Chairs at Twelve Chairs with artwork by Kate Castelli. Glovebox is also excited about their first short film and animation festival that will take place at the Somerville Theatre this June 11. 2011.
